something is off with google's page rankSomething must be seriously off with Google Page Ranking right now. I am coming from forums where i read how some web sites reached PR5 (!) within a couple of months.

Some other people report that they saw sites getting page rank 4 or 5 in 3 months with a few backlinks. Low quality, crappy sites.

www.1up-seo.com is up for over 3 years now, and i remember we once had PR2 but i let the site go and for some reason 1up's PR dropped to 0. Right now we have almost 600 backlinks, and i get "some" traffic to the site. About 600 pages are indexed in Google and i am ranking well for some SEO related keywords.

Still: PR0 <---- This must be a big joke.

According to website grader 1up-seo has 91/100, that is it has a blog, RSS feeds, and it it has a pretty good alexa rank :

Your website has an Alexa rank of 360,512 which is in the top 1.159 % of all websites.

You can check for yourself on websitegrader.com <---

I think it's an utter joke that i am still at page rank 0 and i am 100% convinced it is some kind of penalty from Google. I am also convinced that Google's page ranking algorithm is totally screwed up, otherwise how can it be explained that some new sites can gain PR5 in a couple of months while a 3 year old site with 600 legit, non-black hat backlinks stays at PR0??

Sorry...this is total BS. Sometimes i wish that Google people would read this and would comment. I know why i dont have that Google tool bar anymore...so i usually dont even see PR unless i go on a site and explicitly check their rank. Google doesn't like 1up-seo.com and i would REALLY want to know why and why the ridiculous PR0?

Hi - Don't worry about a PR0 when it could be worse. I have a site that was on PR2 two years ago and now shows a proud N/A and doesn't even get indexed by Google (although sitemap created and submitted to Webmastertools).

From your high Alexa rank I gather that your site gets lots of visitors (which sources? Yahoo and Bing?) which is an indication forquality content. otherwise people wouldn't come.

Good luck and all the best for 2010!
