Google Ranking
Google Ranking - Some interesting observations.
Well i have no idea how i come to this honor - but this site ranks #1 on Google for the term "Good Wording". You can try this out for yourself.
Now, this is a particular un-interesting and worthless keyword - but i still wonder why i rank so high for this. I also see a decent amount of visits on the site coming from Google for this phrase.
Yes, i have an old blog entry named "Writing and Wording a good AdWords Ad" - but the interesting observation is if you compare the search results/Google Ranking with the other sites appearing for this search result "Good Wording".
Firstly, there is no doubt that drupal.org has a way higher authority than this little blog here, and in the search results (see picture) you can see that the drupal site has the two words "Good" and "Wording" in the title, as well as a phrase "Good xxxxx wording" in the article.
Here however, i have "xxx wording xxxx good" and i mention "wording-good-adwords" in my URL.
This strongly leads to the affirmation that the URL has indeed a significant influence on SERPs (Google) position, otherwise it is beyond me how i can rank for this term #1 out of approx 6 Mill sites and even surpass auhority sites like drupal.org
Short: if you go for high google ranking: Make 100% sure your URL contains the keyword. And compare SERPs results, just by looking at the upcoming sites you can learn why and how you can rank well for a particular keyword!
