Our free open source keyword suggestion tool shows the Overture search volume for different geographic markets.

Our Keyword Tool:

  • Suggests monthly regional search volumes by market for Google, MSN and Yahoo.*
  • Links search volumes to the related global search results.
  • Shows links to price estimate tools from Google AdWords and Overture. The AdWords tool shows the necessary bid to rank position #1 for 85% of queries and estimates how much traffic you could expect from AdWords to send to you based on that bid price.
  • Links to Google Trends, Google Suggest, Google Synonyms, Yahoo! Suggest, Nichebot and Wordtracker keyword research results.
  • Links to various databases like Topix.net, Google Blogsearch, and Del.icio.us to let you know if people are talking about your topic and what resources they are referencing.

If you need more free PPC or keyword research pointers:

Things that don't work 100% with this tool (Mainly because of Overture's data format):

  • Overture switches the order of some phrases. SEO Company may appear as company SEO in the output for overture.
    • You might need some common sense and see the other numbers from other tools to tell what the appropriate word-orders are.
    • If you see something like Worth Estate Forth Real well that's pretty obviously screwed up.
    • People normally use language in similar patterns. If there are 15,000,000 results for ["car hire"] and only 3,000,000 pages for ["hire car"] then it's likely "car hire" is a more common search term.
  • Overture mixes singular and plural terms together when showing the data. Be aware the terms may be way different in meaning, competition, query volume and conversion.
  • We estimate MSN and Google traffic based on Yahoo!'s numbers, therefore some sampling errors are amplified.

* Please note that this tool currently assumes Google has double of Yahoo!'s search traffic and Yahoo! about double that of MSN's. Depending on your topic / vertical and your location the search engines may have quitestly different search volumes. The tool can only offer estimates. Exact search volumes are hard to find due to vanity searches, click bots, rank checkers, and other forms of automated traffic. Exceptionally valuable search terms show far greater volume than they actually have due to various competitive commercial forces causing greater automated search traffic.
